Beauty Trends // Hairdo’s For Your Hair Type
For hair that is long or short, straight or highly textured – and everything in between – we’ve found the best hairdos for your hair type!
Straight
1. Short:
Try this easy, but fierce, look worn by Dianna Agron to the Hunger Games premiere. Apply a volumizing mousse to your hair and blow dry straight, focusing on creating a lot of volume on the top. You can blow dry the rest of the hair haphazardly, as this look is supposed to be tousled and voluminous.
Level of difficulty: Easy
2. Long:
Slicked back ponytails have been all over the runway this spring. To get this glamorous, Hervé Léger variation, separate your hair into 3 sections—top, middle, and bottom. Make a ponytail with the top section, and then combine the hair in the second section with this ponytail and secure it about 3-4 inches lower. Next, take the hair in the final, bottom section and create a ponytail another 3-4 inches lower. And viola—a perfect, 3-part ponytail!

Wavy
1. Short:
If your hair is short and wavy, try styling your hair like Charlize Theron. Apply a styling cream and dry your hair like you normally do. Once your hair is dry, use a curling iron to create soft waves and add texture to the ends of your hair.
Level of difficulty: Easy
2. Long:
If your hair is long, try a fun bohemian twist on the classic braid like Ashley Olsen. This “milkmaid” hairstyle is the perfect way to work with wavy locks to create a beautiful, dressed up hairdo. To get this look, create a middle part and apply a styling mousse or gel of your choice. Separate your hair into two low ponytails and braid each of them. Combine these two braids at the crown of your hair and secure with bobby pins. Set with hairspray and you are good to go!

Curly
1. Short:
If your hair is short and curly, try a hairstyle like the one Ginnifer Goodwin wore to the People’s Choice Awards earlier this year. Apply a styling gel, preferably something anti-frizz, and scrunch into the hair.
Level of difficulty: Easy
2. Long:
Kate Hudson always looks glamorous with this beachy look perfect for long, curly hair. When hair is damp, spray beach spray and scrunch the product into the hair. Blow dry or allow hair to air dry, then use a small barrel curling iron to touch up any areas that need to be fixed. But don’t overdue it with the iron—you hair should look natural and effortlessly curled when you’re done.

Highly Textured
1. Short:
Headbands are really in this season and are a great way to dress up short, highly textured hair! Stay in style and choose a jeweled or brightly colored headband that compliments your outfit.
Level of difficulty: Easy
2. Long:
For longer, highly textured hair try Rihanna’s fabulous Grammy look. Apply a styling cream, blow dry, and then curl small sections of hair using a medium barrel curling iron. To loosen and soften the curls, brush through your hair when you are done and set with hairspray!
