Ask Nashville, Tennessee teenager Jordan Anderson what her life’s dream is and she’ll respond without hesitation. She wants to be a famous musician and a career in music has always been her ultimate goal. Luckily for this country pop-star in the making, she received some A+ advice that helped her make her make the musical grade: “Always stay true to who [you are] as an artist and as a person. The audience will always know when you’re a phony!” Rest assured, Anderson is no faker! The 19-year-old brunette released her debut album, Key To My Heart, on August 14th, 2012 and is forging the way for a bright future in the country music genre.

Growing up, Anderson had a balanced lifestyle, she loved golfing, reading, watching movies and spending time with friends and family. Beyond the fun of just being a kid, Jordan was also working toward something big. With a career in music in mind, she snatched the lead role in the musical, Guys And Dolls, and knew singing was the only thing she wanted to do in life.

What does Anderson think to be the key to country music stardom?  “A genuine attitude and an ability to really tell a story through your music and your performance. Country music hinges on story telling.  If you can’t make the fans feel and believe every word, you probably won’t be around long!” Yep, we’re pretty much 100% convinced that this young lady has what it takes and more to be country music’s new it girl.

Anderson’s debut album, Key to My Heart, is classic country with soft vocals and inspiring lyrics. Think Taylor Swift meets Carrie Underwood, but with a fresh, new twist. As she puts it, “My music is sassy and sweet with a dash of inspiration mixed in!” For Anderson, making the album was “such a surreal experience.” She worked with Kent Wells (who just so happens to be Dolly Parton’s producer), co-wrote tunes with writers including Rob Crosby (Concrete Angel) and Karen Staley (Faith Hill) and recorded music in Franklin, TN. The overall mood of the album is happy and lighthearted, with all the tracks on the record emoting a positive, uplifting sound. Listeners definitely can hear the love that she put into these songs. Anderson says, “making this album was honestly like watching all my dreams finally coming true!”

Jordan Anderson is certainly one to watch in the country music scene. Key to My Heart is a stand-out CD jam-packed with tunes you will be listening to on repeat for days on end.
