We wait all year for the September issue, the most important magazine issue released all year, with not only the highest page count of all the other issues printed throughout the year but also the issue with the highest readership numbers. Fashion guru’s and the average gal alike flock to newsstands every September to get a glimpse at the glossy images inside and most importantly to see who will grace the front cover of the years most coveted edition. In fact, the September issue is so vital to mainstream media that audiences rushed to watch Anna Wintour spends hours, days, and months preparing for Vogues coveted September issue in the aptly titled documentary, The September Issue.
We couldn’t wait to get a glimpse of September’s glossy covers and when we finally got to see the goods we couldn’t help but want to share our favorites with you. Read on below for our top five favorite international covers!
#1. ELLE UK
International super model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley appears on the cover of ELLE UK, shot by photographer David Vasiljevic, wearing gorgeous head to toe Dolce & Gabbana and sporting perfectly wind blown hair. Inside Rosie discusses her latest career ventures and the struggles she’s encountered on her rise to fashion fame. The gorgeous blonde is currently working on a lingerie line, which she is surely versed in, just check out those Victoria’s Secret Campaigns. The line, which will sell in Marks and Spencer locations, debuts on August 30th.
#2. Vogue Australia
Resembling a new age little red riding hood, Australian actress, Bella Heathcote graces the cover of Vogue Australia’s September issue. The 24-year-old beauty looks breathtaking on the cover, styled by Stevie Dance; Bella wears a Christian Dior dress in mesmerizing ruby paired with Tiffany jewelry. Bella was photographed by Will Davidson and he really captures some beautiful shots of the actress clad in Balmain and Chanel. The overall look is utterly romantic and we can’t help but be inspired by the gorgeous styling when thinking of new looks for this fall.
#3. Harpers Bazaar UK
Keira Knightly looks glamorous yet brooding on the September cover of Harper’s Bazaar UK and we absolutely adore the results of this gothic reminiscent cover. Dressed in Chanel and shot by Ellen Von Unwerth, Keira looks absolutely divine and totally ready for the fall season. Inside Keira discusses the importance of having girlfriends (she believes there is nothing like a great group of women to rely on) and how much she adores Karl Largerfield (she calls the Chanel designer amazing).
#4. Vogue Portugal
The September issue of Vogue Portugal features rising star in the modeling industry, the raven haired Patrycja Gardygajlo. Photographed by Marcin Tyszka and dressed in Gucci, Patrycja resembles famous artist Frida Kahlo, from her braided hair to her statement brows. The Gucci ensemble Patrycja dones is simply divine with a pencil skirt made entirely out of feathers. This cover is my personal favorite and definitely one to keep in your archives for a dose of inspiration.
#5. Tatler UK
You might think it’s the 1990’s all over again upon first glance of Tatler’s September cover girl, Cindy Crawford. Cindy is looking as great and glamorous as ever on the front of this issue, we are dying to know her beauty secrets because this bombshell never seems to age! With a Hollywood glamour theme, the shoot was styled by Deep Kailey and shows Cindy dressed in Dolce & Gabbana and Roberto Cavalli. Inside Cindy opens up about what it’s like to continue modeling at age 46 and the downsides of the industry.
