Style // City Series: Traipsing Around New York City
New York City, better know as the Big Apple or more aptly the City that Never Sleeps, is a cultural hub of creative minds and souls. Musicians, actors and actresses, stylists, photographers and artists all flock to the City of Big Dreams, which makes for a place full of constant undeniable inspiration. In a city filled with so many unique individuals, places to go and things to see there is no denying the impeccable style that manifests on the streets of New York City. From tailored looks saturated in head-to-toe black (the stereotype that New Yorkers favor this color speaks the truth) or style bloggers who walk the city in stilettos and photograph their adventures with the skyline as their backdrop, there is never a dull style moment in New York.
So, what does one wear when the options are endless? Well, it depends on the activity at hand, design your outfit around your plan for the day and you will be functional and fabulous. We picked two activities to take part in this summer in the city and found the perfect outfits to match.
Stroll Through The City
Taking a walk through Manhattan is the ideal activity on a summer day. Dressing for a stroll through the city requires comfortable shoes and a medium size bag to make sure you can tote around all of your essentials. We adore this baby pink tank from Topshop, it adds a subtle pop of color to a sea of black and the cute gold buttons match seamlessly with the gold hardware on this Rebecca Minkoff bag. The studs that adorn the front of the bag add some edge to contrast the sweetness of the top. Complete the look with some shredded Brany Melville denim cut offs from Need Supply and a simple pair of black flats from Forever 21.

- Topshop Sun Top $48
- Rebecca Minkoff Moonstruck Bag $595
- Brandy Melville Denim Shorts $60
- Forever 21 Ballet Flats $16.80
Trapeze Lesson at Chelsea Piers
Soon it will be summer in the city and this means the reopening of the trapeze school at New York’s famous Chelsea Piers. The NYC Trapeze School allows visitors to take lessons and learn how to soar and swing right next to the Hudson River. When choosing an outfit for a sporty activity it is important to choose items you can move freely in. We love these leggings from American Apparel, which pair perfectly with a crop top (an extremely popular silhouette this summer) like this version from ASOS. Add some color with these comfy turquoise Keds sneakers and pick up this cream crochet cross body handbag from Forever 21 for a hands free day.
