Blog Spotter // Blog Spotter: Inspirafashion

By

Inspirafashion ([in-spi-ruh-fash-uh n]) is just what you would guess it to be: a dual-ended relationship between inspiration and fashion, as told by Kathleen Murillo, a Berkley, CA based student, blogger, and freelance fashion stylist. The blog was born in September 2010 and in her first post, Kathleen’s mission statement was “to not only share [her] style and outfits but also to add inspirations from magazines, fashion blogs, websites, celebrities, and any lovely girl or guy who makes a lasting impression from their own ensembles.” Nearly two years later she has done just that.

Her Pinterest depicts her artful state of equilibrium between being just trendy enough while maintaining her own chic boho-vibe. Kathleen’s incorporation of different elements with high-end and budget-friendly items is perfection. A recent collaboration with Pree Brulee makes channeling Kathleen’s style all the more accessible and affordable,  so be sure to check it out!

CocoKouture: What inspired you to start your own blog?
Kathleen Murillo: I wanted to have a creative outlet to share all my inspirations for fashion and document my personal style as well as connect with others who love the same thing.  I first started out on Chictopia.com, an online fashion community, and found out about fashion blogs through there.  Ever since then, I’ve been hooked to blogging!

CK: What has been the best aspect of having your own blog?
KM: My readers definitely.  They are such inspiring individuals with amazing style!  Being able to interact with them on my blog through my personal style and feeding off theirs for inspiration has been the most rewarding experience.  It’s not every day you get to interact with people from all over the world in one place :) .

CK: How would you describe your own personal style?
KM: It is growing, but I love to describe it as having an ironic twist.  I love mixing girly with edgy pieces or brights with neutrals.  It makes creating outfits everyday more challenging and fun.
