Supermodel Agyness Deyn has conquered runways and photoshoots all across the world, but now audiences can see this breath-taking beauty in the upcoming film, Sunset Song. Born in Littleborough, Lancashire in 1983, the English bombshell (then known as Laura Hollins) knew she was meant to capture attention and hearts from a very young age with her talents, beauty and impeccable style. By 2007, she graced the cover of American Vogue and earned her current title as one of this generation’s famous supermodels. Since then, Deyn has been making the most of her career and excelling in areas such as modeling, singing and now, acting. Fans just cannot wait to see her starring performance in the film adaptation of the famous novel by Lewis Grassic Gibbon, Sunset Song.
Deyn told British Vogue, “When I read the script I fell completely in love with the character and the story.” Sunset Song focuses on the main character, Chris Guthrie, and her struggle growing up in rural Scotland where life is hard and the family is dysfunctional. In this bleak drama, Deyn will make her debut in a moving performance as Chris Guthrie who struggles with life, love and identity in the time of the First World War. With the filming to start later this year, the supermodel-turned-actress will star opposite Peter Mullan.
Although production has not started, we can guess that Deyn will give the role a sort of natural beauty that it has never seen. Fans can glam up Deyn’s rural and county-like costumes from the movie by adding just a little bit of rustic in their wardrobes. This pleated strapless dress from Forever 21 is perfect in building that chic peasant look this summer. Just add on a pair of sandals, stick a flower in your hair and enjoy the fun and festivities that the countryside has to offer.
This is not the first time Deyn has stepped outside of her modeling career, proving that beauty and talent is the best combination. She has had a small role as Aphrodite in Clash of the Titans, provided vocals in various music singles, and can also be heard in the beginning of Rihanna’s music video for “We Found Love”. To say the least, a starring role was only to be expected!
