Fashion // Runway Review: Rebecca Minkoff Resort 2013
Rebecca Minkoff’s Resort 2013 collection is dedicated to the people she grew up with in San Diego, a place where she draws her inspiration from. The collection gives off a beachy skater vibe and features leopard print and acid wash in sophisticated yet sporty ensembles.
Minkoff pairs a leopard legging with a basic white hoodie for a casual feel but revamps it with a gorgeous white shift dress, complete with side paneling of leopard print and shoulder detailing of blue and black. Minkoff has an eye for dramatic flair, pairing acid leggings and a black and blue color blocking shirt. Every detail from the makeup to the jewelry and the bag is all meticulously added to complement each look. The little bright pops of color. The little bit of refined elegance in her classic bags. The simplistic silver necklace and bangles. It’s all in the details.

Minkoff grew up learning how to sew and design clothes and has always wanted to pursue a career as a designer. This passion lead her to attend the prestigious Fashion Institute of Technology upon graduating high school. It was there where she continued to hone her skills and a designer and proved she has what it takes to make it in the fashion industry. She has had many successes including an award in 2009, where she was honored as a New York Moves Power Women for her success as a self-starter fashion designer. Her iconic bags have been sported by many celebrities such as Reese Witherspoon, Lauren Conradand Keira Knightley.
