By

Proenza Schouler is renowned for their sophisticated, sleek collections throughout the year. Tailored suit jackets and fitted shorts featured frequently in the Spring/Summer 2012 collection. Founded by McCollough and Hernandez, Proenza Schouler is based in New York since 2002, and is actually named after the two designers’ mother’s maiden names.

Recently the brand has just released previews of their Resort 2013 Collection, which still resemebles aspects of previous runway collections, but the designers have admitted that they have tried to created a more ‘wearable, saleable collection’, which are less directional in design.

The collection still features classic tailoring and sophisticated designs, but many of the pieces are much more casual and suitable for everyday wear. Monochrome and navy are common colors throughout the entirety of the collection, whilst flashes of mint green also make an appearance. A mix of leather, cotton and tweed create pleasing contrasts in every outfit, whilst clutch bags and delicate heels finish off the Proenza Schouler look.
