Fashion // Runway Review: House of Holland Resort 2013

Henry Holland began his solo career with his brand “House of Holland“ in 2008. Despite his more recent claims to fame, Holland has been a public figure for quite some time. His fame grew from his clever T-shirt slogans, which were noticed by fashion greats like Giles Deacon. Mr. Holland has also been trademarked for his friendship with Agyness Deyn(a favorite model of ours!).

Holland’s Resort 2013 collection showcases the UK-based brand’s style with a focus on bold and bright prints and colors. The collection was clad with high-school inspired garb, including varsity jackets, stripes galore and prep-styled pleats. Holland’s main color choices took this seasons’ classic cobalt and made it a smidge darker, pairing it with a bright peach and a mint green.

The collection of silhouettes from this resort season includes a variety of shapes that range from slim to flared. Throughout this collection, Holland also continued the development of his swimwear line. In the near future, Holland is looking to expand his brand into the eyewear and footwear industries. Props to Holland for, if not bringing back some school-day nostalgia, bringing it back from what we remember from our favorite ’80s and ’90s movies.
