Fashion // Runway Review: Bouchra Jarrar Fall 2012 Couture

By

Bouchra Jarrar continues to please women across the world with her versatile yet practical designs. Jarrar’s Fall 2012 Couture collection is not only runway suitable, it incorporates designs that can be worn by everyday working women.

This season Bouchra Jarrar focused her vision on developing city wardrobe essentials. She is known for her impeccable tailoring and construction and this collection stresses that. Jarrar combines a masculine fit with a beautiful fabric to produce a flattering fit for any woman. She used menswear ideas like trenchcoats, tailored pants, and pinstriped shirts as her inspiration. “Everything has a waist,” she said backstage. “It’s very constructed, but A-line and flared.”

Jarrar’s collection is made from a palette of lavender, black, ivory, and flower prints that she produced herself. This combination of prints and colors produced a very tasteful collection.“My work’s always a continuation, season to season,” she said. “But this time I wanted to explore my more feminine side.”  Bouchra Jarrar’s experimentation with feminine frills, accents and skirts really paid off. Her designs still have a masculine edge but are perfect for a fashionable woman.
