Brand Spotter // Brand Spotter: Best Coast’s Bethany Cosentino x Urban Outfitters
Who doesn’t love a good collaboration between an indie pop star and Urban Outfitters? Former fashion student and current lead singer of the band Best Coast, Bethany Cosentino, collaborated with Urban Outfitters’ vintage line, Urban Renewal, to create a cool line of separates and dresses.
Best Coast is an alternative pop band that is known for their lo-fi, surfer rock sound, whose latest album hit on stores on May 15. Growing up in California, Cosentino was inspired by the Valley girl look, specifically the ’90s movie “Clueless”. She loves thigh highs, crop tops and letterman jackets. Recently, she teamed up with Urban Renewal from Urban Outfitters to design a cool, ’90s-inspired line made from vintage fabrics. Lucky for us, everything is under 100 dollars.

Although the collection is small, it contains some really standout pieces ranging from a lacy “Cher” dress to a cool, cropped letterman jacket. The cropped letterman jacket, her favorite piece, was inspired by a gift from her mother, a letterman jacket she received for her birthday a few years ago. She wanted to turn a jacket that was typically masculine into a more feminine piece. The “Stevie” Cape, inspired by her mother’s Stevie Nicks-type style, is also a standout piece in the collection. If you love crop tops, lacy dresses and other cool separates, be sure to check out the collection, available in Urban Outfitters stores now.
